Our 9-year old son began training with RiverCity three years ago. The coaches are professional, dedicated, enthusiastic, positive and encouraging. They have been succesful in creating a feeling of a big family atmosphere and it is obvious they love working with young athletes to help them thrive. We are 100% RiverCity FC!

Q - What is the difference between an assessment & tryout?
A - The RCFC Juniors program is open to all players and we do not hold a tryout to participate. Instead we hold an assessment session for all those players who would like to join the Juniors program to ensure they are placed on a team with like skilled peers to ensure the best learning environment.
The RCFC Select program is tryout based and players are selected for participation on those teams based on their ability, character, and commitment.
Q - Does my player need to attend the assessment/tryout? What if we have a vacation planned or can not attend for another reason?
A - It is very important for players to attend their tryout or assessments, especially if that player is new to River City FC.
For the Juniors program to ensure proper player placement players should attend their assessment. Failure to attend does not disqualify participation but may result in the player being placed improperly initially.
For the Select program, while we understand and try our best to work with all situations, we can not guarantee any sort of private tryout before or after tryout dates. It is important that your player is at the designated tryout date and time so that they may be assessed appropriately with their peers.
If you have specific questions or concerns please contact Academy Director Daniel Olstad at firstname.lastname@example.org
Q - When will my player be notified of their team placement or whether they have been selected for a tryout based team?
A - We aim to notify players and families of their placement/selection within 48 hours of the assessment/tryout date. In most cases, we will notify you sooner than that.
